This is beautiful Joseph Fitter Victorian oak extending wind-out dining table on turned legs and original castors. Extending from 125cm to 180cm by use of a worm gear & crank handle mechanism. With a spare leave it comfortable sits 6-8 people and stores away perfectly for those bigger occasion. Solid, sturdy, quality piece - in very good antique condition. This beautiful set of Six Quality Classic oak high back antique dining chairs date from Victoria period circa . They have beautiful details of high back. They stand on four beautiful legs, front legs are turned reeded and stand on castors. The oak has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax. They have dark green upholstery This dining table is English and was built sometime after and perhaps as late as . The table has a distinctive feature called a screw expander. A screw expander is a device which is mounted under the table which expands the table to accommodate additional leave. The screw expander consists of a long screw which is inserted into a long tube nut. The screw is turned by means of a crank which is attached to the end of the screw through the apron of the table. By turning turning the crank counter clockwise the table expands. Beautiful French manufactured dining room suite with cherry finish.   Extending dining table seats up to 6 without the table extensions. There are 4 chairs and 2 carvers. Each of the two extensions (one at each end) allows another 2 people to sit, so a total of 10 people can sit around the table (although you’ll have to provide the extra chairs!)   The table is supported by two pedestals which can be removed for transport.   The sideboard is in matching cherry-finish with three cupboard doors and three drawers.   The display cabinet is also in matching cherry-finish and has three glazed doors with three shelves.   The place settings and cutlery plus the contents of the display cabinet are not included!…but the heat resistant table covering is included.   This comes from a child-free, pet-free, smoke-free home so a minimum of scratches and other noxious substances!   Buyer collects.

Antique mahogany dining table, over 100 years old, from the mid-Victorian period. The table is in fine vintage condition, free from woodworm and in very useable condition. The oval top has a fabulous 'pie crust' carved edge. The wind out mechanism extends the table from cm to cm. This is achieved by the insertion of the additional leaf which measures 30x105 cm. The top stands on a base with four large cabriolet legs, beautifully carved on floral motive, with 'ball and claw' feet standing on brass casters.The top is solid mahogany, as is the whole table. It has some light marks but a lot of character and certainly makes a statement. The table stands 75cm high and it comes with a period wind handle.
