Superb Substantial Mahogany Westminster Chiming Bracket Clock, By Wuersch Fall River Massachusetts, the lovely brass dial centre Commemorates the USS Constellation launched The USS Constellation which held two notable "firsts" for the new USN service - the first USN vessel to be put to sea and the first to overtake an enemy vessel. Ordered on March 27th, , she was construction under the direction of David Stodder at the cost of over $ USD. She was launched on September 7th, and served under the nickname of "Yankee Racehorse". The full history can be viewed on the internet. The case is in excellent overall condition the clock chimes on the 1/4 hours playing Westminster Chimes on 5 rods and striking the hours, the lever escapement means there is no problem moving the clock or levelling, there is a lever to side of the dial to silence the chimes if required.
