Vintage Bell Candlestick Telephone Reproduction Phone

This is a beautiful reproduction of an antique Bell candlestick telephone. It’s wired for use as a modern phone with the correct socket fitting. Would look great in any home and add an elegant antique touch. Happy to accept reasonable offers, any questions just ask.

Candlestick telephone 150 TE 234 No. 22 marked on back of mouthpiece. Brass earpiece and dial, which has numbers (no letters). No. 124 and 150 marked on one side of the brass hook for the earpiece and C24 Mk 234 on the other. Original twisted material cable between base and earpiece. The wooden bell box has GPO E embossed on the back, and contains a circuit diagram attached to the door, for Bell Set No. 1 Mark 235. There is also a separate diagram marked N250 and dated . Also another diagram (curved). Both show connections. Hardback book Arithmetic of Telegraphy and Telephony by Herbert and De Wardt of Post Office Engineering Department , published by Sir Isaac Pitman and Son, 187 pages. Cost of delivery extra. From the kitchens of Gate Burton Hall, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, this servants' bell board is believed to have been installed during an update to the Hall in by Alliance Electrical Stores Ltd. Of Grafton Street, London (whose name appears on a plate on the front) and was designed to show servants in which room they were required to attend. The attractive large polished wood frame is 38" x 26" and has behind glass, a number of small round windows with, in one case the numbers 1-25, below which are another 5 windows showing maids' stations on the first and second floors and another for the Day Nursery. It also has the original telephone handset with bell mouthpiece. It was originally wired into a DC current provided by the estate's own generating system. Buyer to collect.

Little but heavy gem of a telephone. Excellent patina. Has been converted and was working however there's a couple of wires broke in the handset, an easy fix for someone with a soldering iron.
