Impressive original and large vintage SERVANTS' BELL BOARD,

From the kitchens of Gate Burton Hall, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, this servants' bell board is believed to have been installed during an update to the Hall in by Alliance Electrical Stores Ltd. Of Grafton Street, London (whose name appears on a plate on the front) and was designed to show servants in which room they were required to attend. The attractive large polished wood frame is 38" x 26" and has behind glass, a number of small round windows with, in one case the numbers 1-25, below which are another 5 windows showing maids' stations on the first and second floors and another for the Day Nursery. It also has the original telephone handset with bell mouthpiece. It was originally wired into a DC current provided by the estate's own generating system. Buyer to collect.

If you are looking for a large, character dining table with chairs, here it is! Due to our impending house move, we are selling our fantastic refectory style dining room table, complete with its matching set of eight chairs and two carvers. This large table is great for events, buffets and parties and has been with us for more than a decade, so we will miss it a lot, but sadly it will not fit into the cottage we are moving to! The table is 106cm wide (41.5") and 289cm long (114"). It is solid wood and has been stained and waxed to a lovely deep brown colour, as have the chairs. The chairs have decorative carved tops. It is believed to date from the early 's, so it does have various scratches and marks from use, which add to its character. One chair has a side rail missing, but all are otherwise fine and very sturdy. We are in Cricklade, near Swindon and could deliver locally for the buyer, for a contribution to fuel costs. The lamp has a small lamp holder (E14).This lamp gives of beautiful and cosy light when it is turned on. It is also a beautiful object in any chic or classic interior, even when the lamp is not turned on.A low wattage lamp was used for the photos.The beautiful cosy effect is even stronger when using a higher wattage lamp. Condition: The alabaster has a number of small white dots, but these could be polished out. Large Vintage Ships Bell with inscription - ex - HMS Rodney

This is a heavy 7lb. ships bell with the following inscription "Metal Ex " H.M. RODNEY" dismantled. Inverkeithing . From what I know of its history it was owned by an ex- sailor of that ship for many years. It is believed to have been made in the early s by or for him. The base metal is unknown but it appears to have a brass wash applied, some of which has rubbed away. A great object which has been in the family for 30 years.
