Gil joined us recently, and as you can see, he’s not in a great state Very skinny, sores on his body, scabby ears and hair loss. He has flat front feet, which typically suggests he’s been run too early and too far as a puppy. From that it would be a safe guess he has probably been worked. He’s a very friendly boy despite his past and he’s been named by some good friends of ours. They tell me that Gil is Hebrew for joy – and this lovely lad certainly needs some of that going forward. Nathan is a very handsome, friendly young lad with a cheeky personality. He is very gentle when taking treats. A good mannered boy who at some point, has had someone teach him the basics. He does need an active, experienced lurcher home where he will get both the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He is big and quite a strong lad, so he will need someone capable of looking after a large, energetic dog and who is prepared to continue with his training to help him reach his full potential. A confident boy who isn't suitable for a home with cats and/or small furries. He could probably live with older children who wouldn’t get knocked over in a sudden rush for the door! Mickey sadly came back to rescue after his older owner felt she couldn’t give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. He loves a good run around and needs an active home where he will get the lifestyle he needs. He wasn’t happy being walked on a lead up the lane for short walks, so he will need a chance to stretch his legs and have a good mooch around when outside. He is a very friendly boy. He can be a little timid at times until he knows and trusts you, but is such a loving dog once he feels confident with you. He is typically good with other dogs, probably best suited to a home with no cats or small furries, and we would prefer if any children, that they are of an age where they can respect his space – ideally age 11+. Please meet marvellous Marvin! A gorgeous rough coated collie/lurcher mix who has had some bad luck in the past, who we would dearly love to see settled in a furever home. From past experience, we feel that Marvin would be happiest with a solo owner or maybe a couple who enjoy long walks and a quiet life. Marvin is great with other dogs, great off the lead and great in the home. No destruction, no mess and no noise. Marvin just needs a home where he won’t be overwhelmed or over faced with groups of teenagers/young people in his space. We would like ideally for his furever family to be within an hour of Shrewsbury so that several visits could be arranged prior to adoption. We would like his owner to have experience of owning a large breed, have an understanding of his needs and be willing to adapt to help him settle. A lovely name for a lovely girl! At about a year old Flora has clearly not had any input and has no manners whatsoever but shes absolutely delightful ?? At 7 years of age he's a steady little chap. A little bit nervous with sudden movements and struggling with kennels after being in a home from 8 weeks of age. He had a fab time with our lovely volunteer and her teenage boy. We would very much like to find sweetie boy TJ a loving stable home very soon. Charlie is a cute little crossbreed chap and he is looking for love. Charlie will be 7 months old as of and he has had a very sheltered life so far. As a result of this, he can be a little wary of strangers. Once he knows you mean no harm, he’s the friendliest lad you could wish to meet. With other dogs, Charlie can be a little wary too, but seems ok with calmer dogs. A lack of socialisation as a pup has left this lovely lad with some insecurities, but with time, patience and love, all this could be worked on.
