Jade, Female, Staffie x - Shrewsbury

Jade is a beautiful little staffie x girl with the most fabulous temperament. She is a firm favourite with volunteers and vet folk alike. At the tender age of 11 years, Jade has been ā€œdumpedā€ and we now need to find her the home that deserves her. She is a little star. Jade is great with other dogs and despite her years, she is a very active, spritely girl. She has been tearing around the paddock quite happily with young Tigger! She is very food oriented and the rustle of a treat packet has her absolute undivided attention. Sadly, due to neglect, she has had to have a lot of her teeth removed, so soft treats are preferred. She is an absolute doll and does not deserve to be in kennels at her time of life. She needs a lovely sofa and a fabulous family to pamper her and cater for her every whim! Jade is in Shrewsbury and is keen to meet families who can offer her a lifetime of love, as fuss and cuddles are important to her. Adult Staffie or Staffie cross male/female wanted to help

Our beautiful baby girl recently crossed rainbow bridge at the age of 12. We are absolutely devastated and can offer a permanent, loving furrever home to a similar dog. There would be updates on his/her progress regularly from us and we would welcome any home checks. We are not asking for a free pet, we have no issue at all with a reasonable donation. Must be good with children and other animals, our Staffie cross baby girl was so gentle to the point of being a super softie. Please feel free to contact me by phone at any time (calls preferred as it's easier to talk directly that way.) We are in the Gwynedd area of North Wales.

Blu, Male, Ambull - Shrewsbury

Blu, Male, Ambull - Shrewsbury

Blu is a gorgeous American Bulldog. He has some hearing problems on his left side, but otherwise fine. Blu is sadly having to find a new home as the older resident dog is not happy sharing his space. His current owner says 'Blu is a very lovely affectionate dog, full of happiness and just wants to be with you all the time giving cuddles and kisses. Loves to chase a ball, and play fetch, but is still learning to give it up without a bribe. Great recall, very good off lead, but lead walking needs some work. Can be left at home during the days, but needs a good run before and after as can be destructive of letters, books, and things lying around, as he's very curious, but never furniture. He has a huge appetite, but needs to remember his manners like 'wait' and 'gentle', so continuous training is needed. He can be possessive over toys, and snatchy with food so would be best in a home with no young children until he learns that it's OK and nobody is stealing his food or toys. Blu is fully house trained and doesn't seem to be reactive to cats, or other small animals (lives with rats currently), and when he's playing fetch he's not interested in other dogs. When he's not playing fetch he can be a little nervous of dogs that come running up to him. If a dog reacts to him, he will react back, then takes a few minutes to calm down. Blu needs an owner who is experienced in bully breeds, has the time to continue his training, and give him the attention he deserves. Until he grows in confidence he would probably be best as an only dog in a child free home'. Can anyone offer Blu that opportunity please? Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the rescue and adoption fee applies. Read More

Nathan, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Nathan, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Nathan is a very handsome, friendly young lad. He is very gentle when taking treats. A good mannered boy who at some point, has had someone teach him the basics. He does need an active, experienced lurcher home where he will get both the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He is big and quite a strong lad, so he will need someone capable of looking after a large, energetic dog and who is prepared to continue with his training to help him reach his full potential. A confident boy who isn't suitable for a home with cats and/or small furries. He could probably live with older children who wouldnā€™t get knocked over in a sudden rush for the door! He really is a lovely big boy who deserves the best of homes. So, if you feel he is right for you please apply, checking you are indeed Rescue Ready first! Joseph, Male, Collie - Shrewsbury

Joseph, Male, Collie - Shrewsbury

Joseph is a very sweet natured and affectionate collie boy who likes nothing more than cuddles and fuss. We feel he is probably an ex farm dog from his behaviour and preferences. As you can see, he does rather love his bed in the hay! A super friendly boy, he loves playing with some of the other dogs, the girls especially. Some of the boys spook him so probably best as the only boy in a home. However. it would be lovely to see him have a sister to play with, as he really does enjoy playing with another dog given the chance. We donā€™t normally insist on this, but we feel Joseph needs a home with a garden. He is wary of walking on the lead still and traffic is a bit scary for him. He can get quite timid so a good secure garden is a must at least in the early days whilst he settles in with you and learns to live in a home environment. Sometimes even at kennels he just wants to walk a short distance and then sit and be stroked. He is a quiet boy and we feel he would like a garden to be safe in at first before he meets too much of the big bad world. He would possibly prefer not to be bothered with young children either. He loves fuss and attention, but as he is quite shy, so it would be better for him not to have to contend with young kids. He will also do best in a home where he has company, preferably with another dog (ideally female) and where he is not at home alone too much, too often. Joseph possibly has an issue with his eyes. His pupils seem quite enlarged and if you are a collie lover, you will know that it is not especially unusual for a collie to have eye problems. We will get this checked out thoroughly in due course. Joseph is a fabulous young lad and it would be great to see him getting the cuddles and fuss that he so loves in his own Furever Home. In summary Josephā€™s ideal home will be a quiet adult home with a lovely secure garden in a quiet part of the world. If he can share that home with a female friendly dog, he would be very happy as he loves to play with other female dogs. He can be a bit overwhelmed by boys. His shy and quiet nature will need patience, calm and the chance to settle in and relax. Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the rescue and adoption fee applies. Read More
