Beryl, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

Beryl, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

Please say hello to dinky tripaw girl Beryl. She has been with us a while, but is only now ready for re-homing. We had to allow her some time to adjust to her leg amputation (the result of an old injury being left untreated) before we could consider her for re-homing. Not a lot is known about this fab little lass. All we can say is that she is in her twilight years and has been worked hard in the past. Some ruthless person had her and didnā€™t have her health/welfare at heart. Therefore, we are looking for a retirement sofa for Beryl where she will receive lots of cuddles and have all the pampering she deserves. She will only require gentle walks, but a garden to sniff and run around in is a must for this smashing little lass. Beryl is in foster at present with other dogs and has been great with them all. No cats or small furries though for this little lady as a working past has left her with a desire to chase. Have you a dinky spot on your sofa for our sweet little Beryl? Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the foster home and adoption fee applies. Read More

Flora, Female, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

A lovely name for a lovely girl! At about a year old Flora has clearly not had any input and has no manners whatsoever but shes absolutely delightful ?? She couldnā€™t be homed with small kids as she has no boundaries and if there was a biscuit around, sheā€™d have it in an instant, LOL. She has also had to fight for food and has scars on her muzzle to prove it. Sheā€™s skinny as a rake, so we need to feed her up before rehoming, and she probably needs a family with hound experience. Nathan, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Nathan is a very handsome, friendly young lad with a cheeky personality. He is very gentle when taking treats. A good mannered boy who at some point, has had someone teach him the basics. He does need an active, experienced lurcher home where he will get both the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He is big and quite a strong lad, so he will need someone capable of looking after a large, energetic dog and who is prepared to continue with his training to help him reach his full potential. A confident boy who isn't suitable for a home with cats and/or small furries. He could probably live with older children who wouldnā€™t get knocked over in a sudden rush for the door! He really is a lovely big boy who deserves the best of homes. So, if you feel he is right for you please apply, checking you are indeed Rescue Ready first! Gil, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Gil, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Gil joined us recently, and as you can see, heā€™s not in a great state Very skinny, sores on his body, scabby ears and hair loss. He has flat front feet, which typically suggests heā€™s been run too early and too far as a puppy. From that it would be a safe guess he has probably been worked. Heā€™s a very friendly boy despite his past and heā€™s been named by some good friends of ours. They tell me that Gil is Hebrew for joy ā€“ and this lovely lad certainly needs some of that going forward. Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Mickey, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Mickey, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Mickey sadly came back to rescue after his older owner felt she couldnā€™t give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. He loves a good run around and needs an active home where he will get the lifestyle he needs. He wasnā€™t happy being walked on a lead up the lane for short walks, so he will need a chance to stretch his legs and have a good mooch around when outside. He is a very friendly boy. He can be a little timid at times until he knows and trusts you, but is such a loving dog once he feels confident with you. He is typically good with other dogs, probably best suited to a home with no cats or small furries, and we would prefer if any children, that they are of an age where they can respect his space ā€“ ideally age 11+. Mickey is a lovely boy, and he is waiting for the right home. Could that be with you? Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Marvin, Male, Lurcher x - Shrewsbury

Marvin, Male, Lurcher x - Shrewsbury

Please meet marvellous Marvin! A gorgeous rough coated collie/lurcher mix who has had some bad luck in the past, who we would dearly love to see settled in a furever home. From past experience, we feel that Marvin would be happiest with a solo owner or maybe a couple who enjoy long walks and a quiet life. Marvin is great with other dogs, great off the lead and great in the home. No destruction, no mess and no noise. Marvin just needs a home where he wonā€™t be overwhelmed or over faced with groups of teenagers/young people in his space. We would like ideally for his furever family to be within an hour of Shrewsbury so that several visits could be arranged prior to adoption. We would like his owner to have experience of owning a large breed, have an understanding of his needs and be willing to adapt to help him settle. Marvin has been very unlucky so far on finding his pawfect and very special someone, maybe that could be you? One thing we do know is he will make someone a marvellous companion for indeed he is Marvellous Marvin! UPDATE ā€“ Marvin had gone into Foster with Aunty Nat and her 2 dogs, heā€™s doing brilliantly, not put a paw wrong. Keep it up Marvin! Lady, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

This is Lady. A sweet older girl who, at 10 years old, should be snuggled on a sofa, not sat in kennels. She walks out nicely with Lucky, and enjoys a tootle around the field stretching her little legs. Aunty Sue is worried the rabbit holes are bigger than Lady is, so sheā€™s kept on a lead to keep her safe. Doesnā€™t stop her having a good run though! Have you a teeny spot on your sofa for Lady? She is an extremely friendly, loving young girl, who is very keen to be loved and fussed. Itā€™s hard to resist her sweet little face. Needless to say, she hasnā€™t been used to being on a lead, but she is now. She will need a family who will accept that sheā€™s had a rubbish start to her short life and will help her to catch up. Bodhi, Female, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

Bodhi, Female, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

This is Bodhi ā€“ a beautiful, happy, friendly girl. She finds herself in rescue after being in a home since birth. Sadly, the arrival of a new baby meant a big life change for Bodhi and she just was not getting the exercise and stimulation that she needs. As you can see, she is a lovely looking girl and has lived with a cat. Therefore, with the right introductions and sensible management, she could probably do so again. She is nervous around very young children so we would suggest only older children in the home. She is a very excitable young girl. She needs a bit of work on her lead walking, can get over excited when out and about. Probably never had the input and structure that will help with that. Could you be the right home for her?
