Male German shepherd in Shrewsbury

I am sadly having to rehome my German shepherd due to my health issues he is 16 months old and amazing with kids he is very clean in the house and will do commands he loves playing with plastic bottles and still has puppy traits He will need some further training as will pull on a lead and gets very mouthy when other dogs around but when off the lead loves other dogs to play I do have a problem with people coming to the house with his barking but once inside he has a sniff then is not bothered he loves walks so would need someone who is active he will only go to a 5 star home and is a house dog and not to be kennelled outside he is very protective and will always let u know when someone is a bout like I say the only problems I have is walks on a lead and barking at the door he has never shown any aggression

Gil, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Gil joined us recently, and as you can see, he’s not in a great state Very skinny, sores on his body, scabby ears and hair loss. He has flat front feet, which typically suggests he’s been run too early and too far as a puppy. From that it would be a safe guess he has probably been worked. He’s a very friendly boy despite his past and he’s been named by some good friends of ours. They tell me that Gil is Hebrew for joy – and this lovely lad certainly needs some of that going forward. Zeus, Male, Malinois - Shrewsbury

A very intelligent Malinois boy. He has had to move kennels as he worked out very quickly how to open the door – typical Mali! They are a very special breed with lots of energy, drive and intelligence so, he will need a home where that is recognised and catered for. Ideally, you will have breed experience and be ready to take on this rather gorgeous boy. Respect his traits and provide an active home for him with something to keep his head busy ongoing. He’s great with other dogs, loves to play and fetch. His previous owner had been teaching him tracking to keep him busy so, if you are prepared to do something similar, maybe he is the boy for you? Joseph, Male, Collie - Shrewsbury

Joseph is a very sweet natured and affectionate collie boy who likes nothing more than cuddles and fuss. We feel he is probably an ex farm dog from his behaviour and preferences. As you can see, he does rather love his bed in the hay! A super friendly boy, he loves playing with some of the other dogs, the girls especially. Some of the boys spook him so probably best as the only boy in a home. However. it would be lovely to see him have a sister to play with, as he really does enjoy playing with another dog given the chance. We don’t normally insist on this, but we feel Joseph needs a home with a garden. He is wary of walking on the lead still and traffic is a bit scary for him. He can get quite timid so a good secure garden is a must at least in the early days whilst he settles in with you and learns to live in a home environment. Sometimes even at kennels he just wants to walk a short distance and then sit and be stroked. He is a quiet boy and we feel he would like a garden to be safe in at first before he meets too much of the big bad world. He would possibly prefer not to be bothered with young children either. He loves fuss and attention, but as he is quite shy, so it would be better for him not to have to contend with young kids. He will also do best in a home where he has company, preferably with another dog (ideally female) and where he is not at home alone too much, too often. Joseph possibly has an issue with his eyes. His pupils seem quite enlarged and if you are a collie lover, you will know that it is not especially unusual for a collie to have eye problems. We will get this checked out thoroughly in due course. Joseph is a fabulous young lad and it would be great to see him getting the cuddles and fuss that he so loves in his own Furever Home. In summary Joseph’s ideal home will be a quiet adult home with a lovely secure garden in a quiet part of the world. If he can share that home with a female friendly dog, he would be very happy as he loves to play with other female dogs. He can be a bit overwhelmed by boys. Nathan is a very handsome, friendly young lad. He is very gentle when taking treats. A good mannered boy who at some point, has had someone teach him the basics. He does need an active, experienced lurcher home where he will get both the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He is big and quite a strong lad, so he will need someone capable of looking after a large, energetic dog and who is prepared to continue with his training to help him reach his full potential. A confident boy who isn't suitable for a home with cats and/or small furries. He could probably live with older children who wouldn’t get knocked over in a sudden rush for the door! Mickey sadly came back to rescue after his older owner felt she couldn’t give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. He loves a good run around and needs an active home where he will get the lifestyle he needs. He wasn’t happy being walked on a lead up the lane for short walks, so he will need a chance to stretch his legs and have a good mooch around when outside. He is a very friendly boy. He can be a little timid at times until he knows and trusts you, but is such a loving dog once he feels confident with you. He is typically good with other dogs, probably best suited to a home with no cats or small furries, and we would prefer if any children, that they are of an age where they can respect his space – ideally age 11+. TJ, Male, Staffie - Shrewsbury

TJ is a super dinky staffie boy who is an absolute gentleman with every other dog he meets. In his former home his best friends and playmates were 2 cats too! At 7 years of age he's a steady little chap. A little bit nervous with sudden movements and struggling with kennels after being in a home from 8 weeks of age. He had a fab time with our lovely volunteer and her teenage boy. We would very much like to find sweetie boy TJ a loving stable home very soon.
