Antique Longcase Clock, This wonderful 19th century longcase grandfather clock has a lovely mahogany case, The hood has a swan neck pediment with quality carved rosettes the door has a lining of satinwood with well turned and reeded columns either side, enclosed is a painted arch dial with date and seconds dial the eight day movement strikes the hour on a bell and has been serviced, Under you have the trunk door which is cross banded with mahogany with carved and reeded either side these match the hood ones, The base also has a cross banded edge with centre panel all supported by fretted carved feet, Circa Height " Width " Depth "

This clock is a genuine antique 30 hour longcase clock by a famous maker. The movement is of superior construction with thick brass plates, 4 large brass pillars, and chain winding mechanism. 30 hour clocks only take 10 seconds to wind and are ideally placed on a wall close to an activity performed everyday such as drawing curtains. It has just had an oil service and bees wax polish. George Honeybone came from a family of over 100 years and 4 generations of clockmakers in Fulford, Gloucestershire. He was born in the son of Richard Honeybone. George worked in Fairford from to , and this clock dates from c. The Fairford History Society states: "Honeybone clocks are now much sought after today, particularly in the Cotswolds as they represent fine examples of local craftsmanship and a link to Fairford's past". To see a full account of the history, including pictures and a family tree, search: "Fairford History Society: The Honeybones of Fairford". This clock is particularly attractive with a painted dial showing rural scenes, glazed hood door with old glass, swan neck pedament above with brass finial. Lead weight and period brass pendulum. The size would fit most modern or period properties, the Height is 82" to the top of the finial, Depth 9.5", and Width 19.5".
