Antique Longcase Clock, This wonderful 19th century longcase grandfather clock has a lovely mahogany case, The hood has a swan neck pediment with quality carved rosettes the door has a lining of satinwood with well turned and reeded columns either side, enclosed is a painted arch dial with date and seconds dial the eight day movement strikes the hour on a bell and has been serviced, Under you have the trunk door which is cross banded with mahogany with carved and reeded either side these match the hood ones, The base also has a cross banded edge with centre panel all supported by fretted carved feet, Circa Height " Width " Depth "

Hear we have a mid Victorian 8day longcase clock made by tho Esther of morpeth it is in good working order keeping time to within a minute or so a week. the clock strikes on the hour on a bell It stands at a impressive 7f4 although can be made a bit smaller by removing the fretting and ball and Engels. The silvered dial is beautifully engraved and inscribed with the makers name "John Peat" from Crieff, who is listed in Clockmaker's of the world as working in Crieff (Scotland) from to . He is also listed as the maker of the Kenmore church clock. I have found some old paperwork in the case that has a brief history of the clock previous owners.
