Oak Longcase 30 Hour Clock Circa , maker - Boyfield, Melton Height (200cm with finial)is on the smaller side so it will fit in any house, probably classed as a cottage clock Painted face with single hour hand and date wheel Movement has been completely reconditioned with rope,weight and pendulum The clock case is totaly original with a fair amount of wear and patiner There are worm holes present on the back boards and on the case Runs a treat and keeps good time. This clock is a genuine antique 30 hour longcase clock by a famous maker. The movement is of superior construction with thick brass plates, 4 large brass pillars, and chain winding mechanism. 30 hour clocks only take 10 seconds to wind and are ideally placed on a wall close to an activity performed everyday such as drawing curtains. It has just had an oil service and bees wax polish. George Honeybone came from a family of over 100 years and 4 generations of clockmakers in Fulford, Gloucestershire. He was born in the son of Richard Honeybone. George worked in Fairford from to , and this clock dates from c. The Fairford History Society states: "Honeybone clocks are now much sought after today, particularly in the Cotswolds as they represent fine examples of local craftsmanship and a link to Fairford's past". To see a full account of the history, including pictures and a family tree, search: "Fairford History Society: The Honeybones of Fairford". This clock is particularly attractive with a painted dial showing rural scenes, glazed hood door with old glass, swan neck pedament above with brass finial. Lead weight and period brass pendulum. The trunk door has a working lock and key, and overall the oak case has good patina and has recently been waxed. The size would fit most modern or period properties, the Height is 82" to the top of the finial, Depth 9.5", and Width 19.5". 19th century carved oak longcase 8 day clock, with motto "I tarry for none" it measures 6' 6" tall. It is carved on the front body of the clock. The sides are plain. The attractive face with delightful Cherub spandrels, was made in the late 18th Century by Newby of Kendal. It has a later movement. It is in good condition, and ticks but does not strike.
