A very attractive late Victorian/Edwardian inlaid mahogany bureau / writing desk circa , in good condition. It is relatively small and lightweight, and would fit into a smallish space (for example, the corner of a sitting room or study, or entrance hall). The desk is inlaid with lighter woods, probably satinwood and boxwood. It has cabriole legs and drop handles. The writing surface folds down and is supported by two retractable arms. Elegant inlaid mahogany Art Nouveau armoire. Striking inlay work both on doors and on cornice Divided into three sections. Left and right doors with matching inlay and central panel with full length mirror Original solid brass handles on doors and drawers Original keys and working locks Original clothes hooks in hanging section (right hand side in photos) with removable hanging rail. Pull out flap under hanging section with brass and ceramic knob Original 100% linen fabric lining to the hanging section. I am selling a fin antique late victorian wooden bird/pheasant carrier cage with leather straps. This is a very unusual item. Birds/Pheasants would of been placed inside the cage then transported on a mans/women back using the leather straps. The are 3 compartments. Each compartment has its own sliding door. 1 large conparment and 2 small compartments. It looks like a few of the wooden rods may have been replaced over the years as a few are slightly different colours. The 2 leather straps are very worn and 1 has a split. Its hard to inspect every single rod Buy I can clearly see that 1 was broken and has been repaired. Please see photos. Length = 3ft 2 inches. Height = 1ft 2 inches. Width = 1ft 11 inches.
