Antique writing slope, being of burr walnut (it is unusual to find a box of this wood), in excellent condition and containing the original brass top inkwell. Having a brass inlay plate to the lid and a matching plate to the key front. Part of this intriguing design bearing resemblance to a fox mask (possibly having a connection to the original owner). This very nice Writing Slope in Burr Walnut with Brass Fittings is in generally good condition for it's age. It has a secret compartment as shown in the photos. A quite small amount of work would make this Slope a very desirable item. There is a very small piece of brass strip missing left of the centre brass square on top of the lid, and some minor cracks in the case as shown in the photos, also the key is missing. This Antique Victorian Writing Slope circa, has been constructed from walnut with brass plaque and brass escutcheon. The interior comprises of an early, tooled writing insert and removable pen tray, a flip out lidded compartment for pens, nibs etc. The inside main surface has a black original lining with a decorative boarder and corner motifs. A two-sided insert, when opened up, reveals two separate storage areas for letters and documents. Some scratches and dents, a veneer is missing in a few places, cracks to the black leather and inside lid has been reinforced with a green velvet, please see the photos, otherwise in a very good condition. Loving home required for this beautiful antique burr walnut and mahogany triple wardrobe with equally lovely matching tallboy from s. Triple wardrobe. H cm (tallest centre point), W 156cm, D 58cm (latter both outside edge of legs) Single side to right contains three pull out shelves and two roomy drawers and there is a full-length mirror on the inside of the door; the double opening side to the left contains an upper shelf (not original but been in situ for 50+ years) with two front-on pull out hanging rails, two shoe support bars on the bottom and the left-hand door has an internal, full length mirror. The pattern of the burr walnut front has been extremely cleverly matched across all three doors. The top is gently curved inwards to a higher point in the centre. Doors have the original handles but no keys. The single and double sides can be separated from each other and the base for moving. Tallboy H 154cm (highest centre point), W 95cm, D 51cm (both outside edge of legs) Contains three pull-out shelves and one large roomy drawer; again, the pattern of the walnut front has been very carefully matched and the top curves gently upwards to a higher point in the centre. The original key and surround is present but the handle is missing. There is a little sun damage on the top of this piece but it could be easily dealt with. Both items have been in the same (non-smoking) family for 50+ years. They are in good condition for their age but as you would expect they have accumulated some wear over time.
