Ships Capstan / Windlass Had this lying around the back of the place for a while, but have recently given up a lock up I was using for storage so this amongst other things needs a new home. I did have it working about 20 years ago but it will need stripping down and cleaning again now if you want it turning, if not it makes a great garden feature. It has ‘Cox and Co’ sole makers, Falmouth’ cast into the top, the approximate dimensions are: O/A height (from bottom of mounting shaft to top of windlass: mm) Mounting shaft length: mm) Height of main body: mm) Max diameter: mm) Drum height: mm) It’s heavy! probably about 80kg possibly more, I moved it in a trailer it would possibly fit in the back of an estate car but a van or 4x4 is probably a better form of transport. Happy to put it on a pallet but It’s down to the buyer to organise the pallet firm.
