The Committee sported the over-large "frondose" headstock (this one) up to , when this was replaced by a President size headstock, but still retaining the impressive "tulip" style mother of pearl inlays in the facia. Birds eye maple veneer was almost exclusively used for the body back and sides, with carved solid spruce body tops, although these seem to have been replaced with laminated tops during the 's, The Committee retained its single Venetian (rounded) body cutaway throughout its production span, which ended around about .. The neck is made of maple and mahogany in a five-part construction, and is supported by an ebony fingerboard; Splendid inlays tell the player the locations. Hofner Committee Brunette archtop acoustic, (Serial Number: ) complete with extremely rare Framus period-correct aftermarket pickup set: I have owned this guitar since and it came with the pickups fitted. (These are a rare and valuable collectors item in their own right!) As far as I know they were purchased along with the guitar. It is in very good vintage player condition but is definitely not a pristine “case queen”. Please note, however, that the neck has never required a reset and the heel has not cracked as often happens with vintage Hofners. The guitar comes with its original, very beaten-up case and a replacement enclosed Van Ghent tuner which I have never got around to fitting. I’m slowly downsizing my collection and have come to realise that, despite my sentimental attachment to this lovely instrument, I seldom play it and so would be better moving it on to a new owner who would hopefully appreciate it as much as I have. 's HOFNER PROFESSIONAL SOLID BASS GUITAR (182/E1) this will be a great bass when finished,most of the original parts are present,straight neck with fully working truss rod,no fret wear or wear to the fretboard,no cracks in the scratchplate, beautiful original nickel bridge and tailpiece,at some point the body was painted blue but the paint comes off really easy,I'm not sure of what wood it is,there are four machine heads with screws but they are odd, pictures I have seen of this bass the body was originally red,in parts alone the guitar would be worth a lot more but it would be a shame to break it up for parts,collection in person only. Hofner Senator Acoustic Guitar

Hofner Senator Archtop Acoustic Jazz guitar This Hofner Senator is an early one. Overall, it’s in good condition, with some honest marks and scrapes. It’s loud and has a lovely sound. The binding is all in good condition and the guitar doesn’t have any splits. Someone has fitted a neck pickup (Now removed) in the past and the small screw holes can be seen at the bottom of the neck (see photos). This doesn't affect the guitar at all. If you decided to fit a neck pickup yourself you should be able to use the existing holes. The lacquer finish has some minor checking as you’d expect for a guitar with the original finish. The headstock is in good shape. The tuners have been upgraded with a set of Grover "Deluxe" tuners. The five triple-dot neck markers are all there and the Rosewood fingerboard is in good condition. As can be seen from the photos it still has the original Hofner compensator tail piece. The serial number of the guitar is which can be seen through one the "F" holes. The action at the 12th fret is about 2.5 to 3mm. Good for a guitar that’s nearly 60 years old. Overall a beautiful guitar, a great player, and a genuine piece of history, with a powerful acoustic tone, low action and when fitted with a pickup will give that original early 60s sound when amplified. I am sorry to sell it but a I feel such a quality vintage instrument should belong to someone who can spend more time than me actually playing it. This guitar would maybe suit a jazz player looking for a reasonable priced archtop with a big mellow sound or someone who appreciates a quality vintage guitar, again at a reasonable price.
