I have a Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc. THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT I have a Schots Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. There is also a large grey slate floor flag for the fireplace to stand on. This versatile cast iron fireplace insert, in premium black, is replica of an authentic period piece and features finely detailed casting, can be used for selected gas fires or traditional wood burning. A lovely Victorian fireplace which is from my house. The surround is painted slate and the insert and grate are cast iron. The surround is approx.: 51inches high and the slate mantle is approx.: 53inches wide. It comes with a slate back plate as seen in photos. There has been some repair to one side piece and also as seen in photo a little bit missing from back of other side piece but when against the wall you do not notice.
