A lovely Victorian fireplace which is from my house. The surround is painted slate and the insert and grate are cast iron. The surround is approx.: 51inches high and the slate mantle is approx.: 53inches wide. It comes with a slate back plate as seen in photos. There has been some repair to one side piece and also as seen in photo a little bit missing from back of other side piece but when against the wall you do not notice. The cast iron surround is approx.: 40 inches high and 40inches wide. This is a lovely fireplace for any period property. £200 Ono Collection only from NG4 area of Nottingham. I have a Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc. It has had a full Restoration with a marbled green background and burgundy.It was made by excellent craftsmen with fluted panels and mouldings and a good decorative keystone.
