Antique Writing Slope in Keighley

This is a fantastic example of a writing slope from the mid s. The box measures approx 18" x 10" x 6" when closed. Finished in walnut it is in extremely good condition. The corners are protected by brass fittings, with brass name slots on either end. There is a brass name plate on top of the box lid. The box opens to reveal a red leather slope. The leather is in perfect condition. Beneath the leather is space for keeping writing paper, envelopes etc. There are small sections at the front for pens, pencils or other stationery implements. There are 2 secret drawers which are revealed by pressing a disguised button. The key is included and the lock is in full working condition. The box can be collected free of charge but can also be sent by carrier. Please message with address if you need a price.

This very nice Writing Slope in Burr Walnut with Brass Fittings is in generally good condition for it's age. It has a secret compartment as shown in the photos. A quite small amount of work would make this Slope a very desirable item. There is a very small piece of brass strip missing left of the centre brass square on top of the lid, and some minor cracks in the case as shown in the photos, also the key is missing. The key is included and all the internal green baize is in good condition. The base of the box is also covered with green baize. All the internal compartments are clean and undamaged. This antique writing slope is solid but need a little bit of tlc. The hinges have been replaced and that is it. Has the original key and a brace plate on the top which is blank. Put your name or whatever you want on it. There is little work to be done to it. The faux leather writing part only needs to be glued in place. No rot or woodworm.
