Used excellent condition Lofrans ROYAL Windlass 8mm Gypsy, original handle included. Needs a polish. Pick up only from Brixham. No Postage. "The Lofrans ROYAL windlass is one of the most popular manual units world wide. Neat and compact this unit ideal where space is at a premium. Designed with double-action operation for quick hauling of the chain & anchor, the handle slots neatly into the hole next to the rope drum and you simply pump the handle forwards and backwards to raise the anchor. The gypsy is released by releasing the three prong nut with the handle which in turn releases the clutch allowing the gypsy to run. The speed of descent is controlled by use of the handle. To pull the anchor and chain aboard, retighten the three prong nut, which engages the clutch, place the handle into the socket on the drum and begin to pump. Made of seawater resistant alloy polished and anodised and supplied with a marine bronze gypsy. Each windlass comes complete with handle and mounting instructions. Antique ships Capstan / Windlass

Ships Capstan / Windlass Had this lying around the back of the place for a while, but have recently given up a lock up I was using for storage so this amongst other things needs a new home. I did have it working about 20 years ago but it will need stripping down and cleaning again now if you want it turning, if not it makes a great garden feature. It has ‘Cox and Co’ sole makers, Falmouth’ cast into the top, the approximate dimensions are: O/A height (from bottom of mounting shaft to top of windlass: mm) Mounting shaft length: mm) Height of main body: mm) Max diameter: mm) Drum height: mm) It’s heavy! probably about 80kg possibly more, I moved it in a trailer it would possibly fit in the back of an estate car but a van or 4x4 is probably a better form of transport. Happy to put it on a pallet but It’s down to the buyer to organise the pallet firm. I also have a contact number for a ‘man with a van’ who’s patch seems to cover most of South West and a large part of the South of England, message me if you want his contact details. Here is my medieval crossbow the tiller is sold oak with lovely tiger stripes on grain, it has a spring steel prod that pulls at 700lbs it's had a Dacron string fitted as linen one over stretched, also steel bow irons and stirrup release nut and trigger, comes with windlass to load her as there is no chance with the power even the strongest could load her, brought from a friend who sadly passed 3 years ago I paid £ he brought it from torm show he told me for more I have the proper 1/2 inch bolts it fires what will give to buyer just letting all my man toys go as I don't use them anymore have other medieval crossbows I'm selling on my other ads open to close offers but no silly ones, any questions call me thanks
