TAUNTON VALE Scales

TAUNTON VALE Scales The scales are in pretty good condition, but are in need of a fresh coat of paint. They and are FULLY FUNCTIONAL. They are unusual, quite rare and very eye catching. They have always been a talking point when new guests arrive in my home for the first time. The scales are approximately 40 years old. We collected lots of Taunton Vale around the time that we married, and in June we celebrated our Ruby wedding anniversary. Each member of my family collected a different pattern in the collection. I think that this pretty blue one may have been called blue daisy. (They did a yellow one too). As you can see, the metal is lovely and shiny (after just one clean in ages), but there are a just a few very small dark spots on the metal. (A bit of elbow grease may remove most of these). Weights – few chips on the paint of the weights, but not too bad: - 1 lb 8 oz 4 oz 2 oz 1 oz ½ oz Reason for selling is that we would like to downsize. Taunton Vale Utensil Holder Blue and yellow daisy like flower. Vintage colourful item from the ‘70s. I had the blue daisy, my sister the herb and my ma in law the dark blue. I seem to have inherited some of their collections but as I am hoping to downsize, its time to reluctantly part with some of them. Made in England Taunton Vale,Wiveliscombe, Somerset, is on some of the items. There are 4 plastic hooks (not the original) on this utensil holder from which things can be hung. Items such as kitchen utensils, tea towels, oven gloves, scissors etc. Condition This utensil holder is very old but in fairly good condition for its age. It has a some staining in the upper right hand corner which may possibly come off with cleaning. There are no chips on the melamine board material. The Colours are quite vibrant. Also, there is an area of repair, situated on the outer rim of the lid. It is approximately 2cms long and partially concealed by the sturdy rubber seal. The area of repair is completely concealed when the lid, (which fits very securely) is on the jar and is protected by the rubber seal.
