Lovely antique French mantle clock

This is a Japy Frere eight day solid oak clock that dates from circa in very good condition. It is eight inches wide, three and a half inches deep, and five and a half inches high, has a deep reddish colour. The silvered dial has black painted arabic numerals with black hands and has the very high quality movement Japy Frere was renowned for. There is a small circular brass plate at the back covering the winder. This is in a wonderful condition with a nice beaded edge, the only fault is that a small piece of the moulding is missing to the front right hand side but is not noticeable to detract from it's appearance. A lovely and majestic French Marble clock, almost 20 inches tall {Very Heavy}. Appears to be of high quality. The movement may be somewhat different than the basic French marble type, as the pendulum bob is a surprising 2 inches in diameter and heavy. The tick is really quiet for such a big clock, and the gong strike mellow. It seems to be keeping good time. Although heavy this seems very different to the normal French marble clocks. I HAVE A REPORT AND RECEIPT FOR THE WORK DONE ON THE RESTORATION, THE REPORT ON THE CLOCK CALLS IT A BLACK BELGIAN MARBLE CASED FRENCH STRIKING CLOCK CIRCA ..UNDERGONE SA COMPLETE RESTORATION IT IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AND IN VERY VERY GOOD ORDER.. THERE ARE PHOTO'S WITH THE CLOCK SHOWING IT HAD A COMPLETE STRIP DOWN AT THIS TIME. IT HAS TAKEN A LITTLE PATIENCE BUT I HAVE SET THE CLOCK UP AND CAN REPORT THE CHIME ETC WORKS AS IT SHOULD STRIKES ON THE HOUR THE HOUR SO 3 STRIKES IF IT,S 3 O CLOCK AND SO ON AND ONCE EVERY HALF HOUR, ALSO IT KEEPS VERY GOOD TIME, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE WHEN FIRST SET IT UP BUT WITH PATIENCE IT KEEPS GOOD TIME THE CLOCK IS VERY HEAVY, SO I'M SWAPPING OR SELLING ON A MEET ONLY BASIS FROM MINE TO WHERE EVER WE MEET HALF WAY.
