This stunning jali wood table and 6 chairs has been given the popular shabby chic look by being painted in Annie Sloan's old ochre chalk paint. It has then been distressed and the finish protected with clear wax. The table top and the 6 chair seats have been stripped and sanded back to reveal the unusual and beautiful natural wood grain. This has then been finished with a wax feel hard wearing varnish in a satin finish to give it a soft sheen. With jali wood there are many differing colours to the natural wood making it very different. The table top which is similar to a butchers block has differing widths in the wooden planks and they are very thick and chunky making it extremely heavy!. The ladder back chairs have a metal stud detail and the table legs and top has metal strapping giving it an aged and industrial feel. Although there are only 6 chairs this table will seat 8 comfortably. This set has had a previous life and has picked up the odd knock or dent along the way but this does not detract from the piece it only gives it a more authentic shabby chic look. This set is extremely heavy and this should be taken into consideration when collecting.
