This large imposing solid hardwood table has been painted in Annie Sloan's paloma chalk paint, which is a soft blushed grey colour. It has been slightly distressed to give it the shabby chic look then waxed and varnished for protection and durability. Although this set comes with 6 rattan high back chairs (two of which are carvers) this table could comfortably seat 8. The chairs seats are quite large and really comfortable and have been reupholstered in porter and stone renaissance dove grey fabric. Which compliments the paloma paint colour perfectly. The table which extends has been stripped and sanded to reveal the beautiful pattern of the inlay truly stunning! It has had several coats of wax feel varnish in a satin finish to give it a lovely soft sheen. It sits on a rattan base again this has been distressed and waxed for protection. As with any piece of furniture that has a had a previous life it has picked up the odd knock along the way. However this is a really solid table and any imperfections only gives it a more authentic shabby chic feel. With jali wood there are many differing colours to the natural wood making it very different. The table top which is similar to a butchers block has differing widths in the wooden planks and they are very thick and chunky making it extremely heavy!. The ladder back chairs have a metal stud detail and the table legs and top has metal strapping giving it an aged and industrial feel.
