From the kitchens of Gate Burton Hall, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, this servants' bell board is believed to have been installed during an update to the Hall in by Alliance Electrical Stores Ltd. of Grafton Street, London (whose name appears on a plate on the front) and was designed to show servants in which room they were required to attend. The attractive large polished wood frame is 38" x 26" and has behind glass, a number of small round windows with, in one case the numbers 1-25, below which are another 5 windows showing maids' stations on the first and second floors and another for the Day Nursery.
