Academic sculpture of the Belvedere torso, with some changes from the original (as shown in the attached pictures) i.e. completed with some of its parts, for a better academic rendering. Finely craved in Carrara marble, it appears softened by ageing,though it still is in excellent condition. Supported by a metal pin, which is inserted, in its turn, in a beautiful and uniform one-piece of Egyptian alabaster. The work looks very elegant and perfect as a furnishing. This little rabbit is carved into wonderful antique yellow marble (surely Numidicus i.e from Numidia, the North-Eastern African region currently named Algeria, where it used to be mined in ancient Roman times) and is an inspiring example of high-quality craftsmanship, for an eclectic market hungry for novelties. Born in this decade () as a result of the Liberty movement, i.e. the Italian Art Deco, which marks the birth of the Italian design. Starting in , which marks the beginning of those roaring years of beauty and useless pomp, only devoted to extreme luxury in almost all fields, when the artist could give free rein to his creativity, this period culminates in , that is one of the greatest economic crisis of all times.
