This sprawling Victorian grade II listed building in Liverpool is derelict but in the past has been used as an Orphanage, a Psychi<strong>atstrong>ric Hospital and Old Person's Nursing Home throughout its 138 year history. Boarded up and surrounded by perimeter fencing, Haunted Happenings have sq ft of terrifying corridors and rooms to explore as we enter this building in search of the <strong>ghoststrong>ly inhabitants th<strong>atstrong> still reside here. The areas themselves are so vast th<strong>atstrong> we select the most active <strong>forstrong> our overnight <strong>ghoststrong> <strong>huntstrong>s. The institution was opened in as an Orphanage <strong>forstrong> the educ<strong>atstrong>ion and support of the orphans of British seamen and by there were 321 children housed here under the harsh supervision of a number of M<strong>atstrong>rons. Conditions were harsh and cruel, siblings were segreg<strong>atstrong>ed and "they weren't fussy how they punished you" described one <strong>forstrong>mer resident. The First World War brought more residents to the Orphanage and by almost one thousand orphans were being housed here. The Orphanage eventually closed in and became Newsham Park hospital which remained in oper<strong>atstrong>ion until when it closed down completely, beginning the demise of this spooky building which is now used <strong>forstrong> many paranormal investig<strong>atstrong>ions by Haunted Happenings. The abandoned Hospital has a massive array of spooky rooms, corridors and basements, including a School House, hospital wards, nurses accommod<strong>atstrong>ion, Bell Tower, Chapel and Mortuary. There is an instant feeling of uneasiness as you enter and begin your journey into this frightening loc<strong>atstrong>ion. On a Haunted Happenings overnight <strong>ghoststrong> <strong>huntstrong> <strong>atstrong> Newsham Hospital You will not fail to sense the torment of those who belong to its long and torrid history. Strange things began to occur and on the day th<strong>atstrong> they moved in a strange occurrence took place in the <strong>forstrong>m of a dust flo<strong>atstrong>ing around them th<strong>atstrong> seemed odd to say the least. This dust settled and in their ef<strong>forstrong>ts to clear it up, Mrs Kelly, the children’s aunt, went into the kitchen to get some cleaning implements only to discover a mysterious pool of w<strong>atstrong>er th<strong>atstrong> had appeared on the kitchen floor. The pools of w<strong>atstrong>er then appeared all over the kitchen whilst they looked on in shock. This was just the beginning and nobody could ever have predicted how much they would endure over the next several years. A foam which was green in colour would come out of taps and toilets even though the w<strong>atstrong>er had been turned off, lights going on and off repe<strong>atstrong>edly with no apparent fault.
