11hh welsh section A pony club lead rein pony

Our beloved pony Barney is sadly up for sale after 7 great years. All my children have ridden him from being toddlers and he has been their first pony so this is such a sad sale. He enjoys being worked and will whinny when he sees you bringing tack so it's unfair on him to be left without a job. I am advertising him as a lead rein pony as this is what he prefers in a schooling situation as he can be nappy without his leader in the arena and he much prefers having mum or dad to walk beside or even run in front. He will hack out perfectly off the lead and goes off your voice. He has been ridden around hopton x country off the lead and on the farnley ride and Escrick park. He will jump small jumps and has got a good jump but it's not something he enjoys. He is just ridden now and then at the moment but he is exactly the same ride how ever long he is left. Barney has been involved with all pony club activities including mounted games, mini camp, mini cross country, lessons and jumping with my daughter from being age 5. He has competed on the mini mounted games for 2 seasons on the lead and did wetherby weekend this year off the lead in the junior team and did great. Totally unfazed with a busy environment and does not get silly or excitable, he's very happy to stand on the line and just wait his turn and knows the equipment. When at shows he just stands patiently and nods off. He will ride and lead and is responsive to voice commands which is great for teaching little ones to canter on the lead. A shout of whoa quickly brings him back to walk! We've stayed away at shows and he is happy to be corralled in an pen and will not stress if left on his own, he just enjoys being out and having a job to do. He can be a bit grumpy to handle and will pull the odd face. He will live out with a shelter or come in at night and he is happy with both. He is very clean in the stable and will poo in a bucket at the back! He can be left for weeks and then ridden and he is exactly the same, just steady away. 11hh lead rein pony club pony

Poppy is an 11hh unregistered Welsh sec A 12 years old. Poppy is a fantastic all round pony club lead rein pony. She loves a fuss and is extremely loveable. My 5yr old picks her feet out and can bath her. She has taken part in all PC activities and brought home plenty of rosettes. She loves her jumping and doesn't bat an eye at any fillers. She has taken part in games practices and not phased by any of the equipment. Poppy never grabs down for grass and hacks out alone or in company and is not spooky. She isn't bothered by traffic and is used to farm traffic and animals. She will happily walk through streams and water. Poppy will live in or out with mares or geldings. She is up to date with vaccinations, teeth and worming and is fine with the vet but does need sedation for teeth. She will stand for the farrier (unshod) is fine to clip but I haven't ever pulled her mane so not sure about that!!! Poppy had one mild bout of laminitis this year but no veterinary attention was needed (pulses raised but no lameness) She will load no problem in a trailer or wagon and happily stand all day. Poppy does go off lead but is being sold as a lead rein pony as she has bolted with my daughter. She is a forward going pony when in full work and although she has been excellent most of the time she has bolted twice now in the 10 months we have had her. She may be fine with a stronger rider but my daughter is off lead rein and I now need one I can trust not to be strong or bolt off lead rein. For sale - Misty is 15.1hh Connemara Cross aged 11yrs old. She is a fun forward going horse that loves being out and about. She loves cross country and working hunter. Up until this year she has been active member of East Lothian Pony Club – attended rallies, competed in pick-a-fence, attended Pony Camp, done some Le Trec and Leisure Endurance Rides. At present she is hacking out and going to the beach with a little bit of schooling. She hacks out alone and happy in traffic. As with most horses she can walk past a huge tractor moving and then spoke at a plastic bag! She doesn’t buck, rear, bolt, bite or kick but she doesn’t like the farrier and we need to sedate her for that. She is shod in the front and bare foot in the back. Although she is not a novice ride she has behaved an angel on lead rein for visiting friends and family having a little ride out! We have had her for 5 years now and we have learned so much from her. My daughter got her when she was 12 and now at 17 does not have as much time for her. She is vaccinated, wormed, up to date with dentals and comes from a strict strangle free yard. 13.2 fun pony Good home essential. 11yr old Chestnut mare Currently a happy, very forward-going, hacker Would potentially do anything Kind nature. Currently living out but would also live in. Easy doer. Fully wormed and shod. Full passport. This lovely mare has been used as a trekking pony with us since she was backed so she hasn't done a lot of formal schooling. The basics are all there and she's a very easy ride. Snaffle mouth. She is a sad sale as we are reducing our stock and am confident she would suit a teenager/small adult and would be bags of fun. She's very nippy to ride with full breaks. Due to our location she hasn't had a lot of experience on roads but on crossing roads/riding down country lanes she is great. Beautiful 11hh Reg Sec A Mare

11hh Reg Sec A grey mare, 8 yrs old. Broken late as a 7 yr old by a showing producer and was shown as a leading rein pony at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately she was too green for little tots to ride in the ring at the bigger shows. Although she apparently was excellent at home with a older more experienced jockey. I took her on as a companion pony after a bad experience at a show. Nothing nasty, just increasing became sharp which unbalanced the little rider. Since then she has been used as a companion pony to a couple of horses. I have continued her education in-hand over the summer months. She has been lunged on the flat and jumped over coloured fences up to 2.6ft but has scope to jump far bigger. This mare loves jumping but would need more schooling by a experience jockey. She is going to be too sharp and green for a novice, first time owners or nervous young rider to handle as she needs reassurance from her rider/handler and a one to one relationship. She has not been ridden or walked in-hand on the road at all so this will need work too as she is nervous with passing traffic. She is good to bath, groom, in stable, tack up, with farrier, dentist and to clip. Easy to load with a bucket, can be inconsistent to catch but will again come to you straight away with a bucket. She has been fully vaccinated for tetanus, regularly trimmed (never shod), wormed and had teeth rasped at the end of August. I had intentions of keeping this little mare as a companion and breaking her to harness in time as she has movement to die for. Unfortunately I no longer need a companion pony due to buying back a home bred filly and as space is at a premium over the winter she now needs to find a suitable new home. This pony would make a lovely addition to a experienced equine family with a few good little jockeys to ride her on. Being advertised realistically as a project for an experienced, loving home only as she is a sweet little mare which just needs a good rider not a hard time. She has been clipped with a bib clip and will be ready to be re-schooled over the winter. Currently turned out 24/7. Will go with her fly rug and brand new shires turn out rug. Ruby! The beautiful ruby is a stocky 13.1hh Welsh pony x, 11yr old mare. Ruby is one of the most straight foward and sweetest horses I have ever come accross. Fabulous to catch, trim, load and travel. Ruby spent the first part of her life having a couple of foals and hacking around the mountains. Having only 1 previous home to myself since a foal she is sensible, straight foward and gentle.
