Refurbished Shabby Chic Welsh Dresser Solid Pine

This is a fabulous very chunky heavy solid pine welsh farmhouse dresser that has been hand-made, it is a fantastic quality made item that is in great condition and is extremely heavy. Firstly I have sanded the sideboard top to remove the old lacquer and show off its beautiful solid pine wood grain, I have then sealed this with a diamond hard clear Matt varnish (three coats). This finish is easy to maintain and really shows off the pine wood beautifully. The rest of the dresser I have hand-painted in the specialist Annie Sloan furniture chalk paint, slightly distressed in keeping with the shabby chic character and charm and then sealed again with diamond hard clear Matt varnish. The shade I have used is Chateau Grey (a greyed green in the chalk paint palette) which is a traditional shade found in French furniture and perfect for creating a vintage farmhouse look, please view on-line the Annie Sloan paint palette on the shade. The cupboard doors and drawer fronts I have painted in a contrasting shade of Old Ochre (cream). I have changed the original gold handles to natural solid pine knobs and painted them in chateau Grey. The unit has two shelves on the top dresser for you to display your precious items, there are two deep drawers and shelving inside the bottom cupboard, so ample storage space. Unlike a lot of pine dressers this is really chunky and is made to last. It will grace any kitchen diner and give you that much sought after shabby chic French country farmhouse look and will look stunning.
