The only snag with it, from my point of view, is that it is heavy - too heavy for me, especially as I live in a second floor flat. for sale guitar amp by,... Peavey Classic VT 212 amp this amp is spares or repairs only here is all the blurb,... Peavey Classic VT 212 amp The VT Classic is not all tube. It has a solid state preamp section and a tube power amp section, basically the opposite of the Marshall Valvestate which has a tube in t he preamp but a solid state power amp. However, I much prefer a tube power amp/solid state preamp to solid state power amp/tube preamp. And those VT series Classics sound pretty good and Power tubes are 2 6l6GC's and the amp is fixed non adjustable bias so normally you will be fine when changing power tubes without a bias check. Peavey Guitar Amp and Speaker Cabinet. Purchased this item new in the early 80s, had little use, then it found it's way into the loft. Time for a clear out, plugged in, fired up, wow nice and loud. A couple of the pots crackle a bit when turned otherwise fine, in very good condition. I had a speaker cabinet made at the same time but never got around to covering it or putting a grill over the speakers. The speakers have been damaged a bit in storage but still sound good.
