It has a solid state preamp section and a tube power amp section, basically the opposite of the Marshall Valvestate which has a tube in t he preamp but a solid state power amp. However, I much prefer a tube power amp/solid state preamp to solid state power amp/tube preamp. And those VT series Classics sound pretty good and Power tubes are 2 6l6GC's and the amp is fixed non adjustable bias so normally you will be fine when changing power tubes without a bias check. I'm a professional sound engineer - both live and studio. I've always loved the sound of these amps when I've come across them through my work as an engineer, and when I saw these up for sale I couldn't resist buying them, as I don't see them up for sale all too often, and especially not in this great condition. I first came across the Classic series after looking up Simon Neil's (of Biffy Clyro) guitar rig. Anyone who has seen them live will be aware of how great his guitar sounds. He uses a Classic 30 and a Delta Blues in his rig I believe! Anyway, I cannot keep them all, although they will eventually be put to use in the studio if I cant shift them. The amps are unsold stock, so barely played and in great condition. So please grab an excellent amp, and feel free to arrange a time to view if interested (serious buyers only please!)

Great cosmetic condition, home use only, with original footswitch. 2 Channel, with selectable gain/volume boost on the drive channel. Powerful Active EQ on the drive channel and passive on the clean channel. Resonance switch on the back panel to really add the low end you'd expect to hear from a much bigger cab. FX loop, low and high gain inputs and real spring reverb. 45w from two 6l6 valves, peavey Blue Marvel speaker. Could probably do with re-valve, these are the original valves and they're a bit noisy on warm up, they're ok at temperature but its usually a sign that they've seen better days. Peavey Guitar Valve Tube Head Amplifier Custom Flight Case Amp Marshall Mesa Orange

Peavey Guitar Head This head is in fantastic working condition. The amp comes with a custom flight case by Castle Cases. If you remove the top of the flight case, the head can stay in the bottom of the flight case with all cables fitting in the back. Makes it super easy when gigging. Please see photos. I had the head modified (by a professional amp maker) to a removable IEC/Kettle Lead, as I found the built in kettle lead frustrating and it wouldn't fit in the flight case with the plug trailing out of the back. The reason it is at an angle is this is the only way this can be fitted safely. There is the usual small wear and tear to the tolex around the amp, nothing serious at all. Currently the amp has the standard grill mod, so you see the tube glowing from the front. I can revert is to original very easily before collection/delivery. I personally thought it looked cooler without. I have the piece of wood featuring the Peavey logo which will be supplied to you either way. There is a picture of this in the photos. The amp also comes with a red trimmed dust cover (see last photo)! Delivery & Collection I am based in East London and can deliver this amp to London/Essex/Kent/Surrey for petrol cost - however please message beforehand to arrange. Barely used, only a couple of gigs and a handful of recording sessions. Re-valved a few months ago now just sat here doing not a lot of anything. I'm sad to see it go but needs must. Very Minor cosmetic damage, everything works fine. Cab also has DI function which comes in handy for blending tones. Original Tubes, foot switch, midi cable, amp to cab jack lead and power lead included. I paid £ ish for it a few years ago, looking for £750, will accept reasonable offers.
