The viewer is - •for all 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm) slides; •optically worked glass lens; •battery illuminated; •needs 2 type "C" batteries; •original instructions included; •bulb included; •boxed, (vgc for vintage box). Made in England by R F Hunter Limited, London. This Pocket Viewer, which is used to view slides, (and even negatives or similar), is believed to date back to the s, and so is in really good condition especially considering it's age. I have tried "C" size batteries in it, which appear to fit and work fine. The bulb is still working.
