Pair of Art Deco chairs, possibly H & L Epstein, cloud back style from . Re-upholstered in slightly faded bottle green leather, very good condition except for small pieces of veneer missing from top edge of one chair as shown in the photo. Footprint 48 cm x 48 cm (19” x 19”), max. depth front to back 61 cm (24”), seat height 49 cm (”).

Thought to be Utility or earlier, though possibly Italian, and have been in my family for approx. 50 years. Of classic design, both have tubular aluminium frames with attractive curved wooden arms / front legs (thought to be oak) similar to some Bauhaus designs. The frame of one has been repainted (green). The frame of the other is in original finish (dark brown). Both light and sturdy and in very good condition, some new springs. For sale without cushions as both have been fitted recently with modern foam cushions and new upholstery, but do not have fire safety certificates. Overall width cms. Overall height cms. On offer here are three very nice Art Deco arched barrel back dining or side chairs very stylishly upholstered in green faux leather secured with original brass headed tacks. The ebonised oak legs stand out nicely on these stunning barrel back chairs. Comfortable and ready for service these chairs have been in store for some years and could do with a good clean and polish - one has had one of its back legs attacked by a teething kitten(?), puppy(?) small hungry child(?) as shown in the pictures which show the actual chairs on offer and form part of the description.
