Letting this amp + cab go together cheap as I've spotted a good deal on a guitar I want and it doesn't get much love after purchasing a Victory amp. I used this amp lightly in a band I was in but never got the love it deserves, great 70s classic rock tones and sparkly cleans alongside stacks of distortion on the lead channel. Cab is a Marshall MX412A with Celestion speakers and is the matching unit to go with the head. Footswitch controls channel selection between classic gain and ultra gain, or reverb on/off. Has an effects loop round the back. "Countless hours of R&D and of course listening, went into the creation of the 100 Watt DSL100. DSL is an acronym for ‘Dual Super Lead’, so it should come as no surprise that this amp has two footswitchable channels – Classic and Ultra. Furthermore, each of these channels boasts two modes: the Classic channel offers a Clean / Crunch option while the Ultra offers Lead 1 or Lead 2. I am selling this little but loud 15 watt valve head and cabinet, sounds huge for 15 watts though! Volume, tone and bass response controls, 4/15 watts RMS, 2x EL85 valves, I've had this amp for around 4 years but don't use it enough to justify keeping it, collection only (based in Stirling) - here's the blurb from the website for the head: The Defender 15H is an EL-84 powered, 15-watt tube head in a rugged metal housing with unique, professional features. Marshall JMP 50 Plexi vintage valve amp head, dated by Marshall to or early RECENTLY SERVICED and in full working order. I have owned and used this amp for almost 40 years and I am selling reluctantly now only because I have retired from gigging. The amp has been regularly serviced during a long and active working life. It has therefore undergone some parts replacements, but it retains many original components. I’ve included photos showing the internal electrics and the exterior condition of the case. More pix can be emailed on request. Before offering the amp for sale I’ve had it fully serviced, tested and upgraded to meet modern electrical safety standards. The work was carried out by Chris Taylor at Vintage Amp Services and included a complete re-valve with new Tube Amp Doctor valves, new fuse holders, new safety-compliant standby and on/off switches and a modern I.E.C. mains socket fitted. The mains voltage is hardwired to 240V and the speaker impedance selector to 8ohms. This was for my convenience when the original movable selector inserts were lost. A current equivalent Marshall reissue X head would cost you around £ new. This amp is not a mass-produced reissue, it’s a piece of hand-wired rock ’n roll history from the ’s.
