Mariner 15hp This engine is a Fourstroke, Shortshaft, manual start with tiller control and front mounted gearshift. It is in perfect running order, it starts easily, ticks over smoothly and quietly, pumps loads of coolant water. It has loads of power and selects gears smoothly. It has always been looked after and flushed through. There is no corrosion and the paintwork is very good. The only downside being the minor cosmetic damage to the decals. It has just been serviced, new plugs, engine oil and gear box oil. It comes complete with quicksilver fuel tank. Engine is ready to go. Can be seen running, can be sent on a pallet if required. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the last examples of the lightest 15hp outboard motor ever produced at just 35 kg which is considerably lighter than all modern 4 stroke equivalents. This weight saving makes a huge difference when man-handling the engine on and off small boats and also improves performance when under way. Condition of the engine is very good (see photos) with some paintwork chips commensurate with age. The motor starts and selects gears smoothly and has an excellent flow of cooling water. It has had an additional unit fitted which cost £300 that generates 12 volts to power units such as a radio and lights. The engine has had less than 50 hours of use. It has never been stored in water and is flushed out after every use and dry stored in our garage. The engine is in immaculate condition. It has been regularly serviced on an annual basis by the dealer that it was purchased from. It had a new timing belt fitted at its last service 1 year ago and has had 7 hrs of usage since. For Sale: Zodiac Futura FR MK 2C inflatable "RIB" style boat. Mariner 15hp 2 Stroke Outboard Short shaft. Manual start. Tiller control. Includes fuel tank and line, 2 x paddles, foot pump and box of spares. Approx 12' long, folds surprisingly small for storage / transport. Boat and engine last used end of April '17. Outboard has small chip in the propellor and one of the transom clamp screws has a homemade replacement after the original got knocked and bent. Neither effect operation and are detailed in the photos. Why am I selling? I bought the boat with high hopes of regular boating, but in reality I have only managed to take it out twice in the last 2 years and I am really struggling for storage space. The boat is currently located in Melrose in the Scottish Borders but at some time during early June I will be in Edinburgh and could bring the boat with me.
