Manuscript leaf from a book of hours on vellum. Part of a book of hours, Office of the Holy Spirit. On the recto you can read Psalm 69:1 starting at “Deus in adjutorium”. That is the introductory prayer of almost every Office. At “Spiritus paraclitus...” starts the prayer At Nones, the prayer read at 12 am.This book of hours is in Latin, but is from France around Paris or Rouen. It was written by hand around .With black letters in 17 lines, including 10 large initials in blue or gold colour with fine pen decorations. Two small line fillers, and in purple ink the following parts of the ceremony are indicated: hymn (hym), prayer (oro), versicle (V). Some small initials are decorated with gold paint.
