Lady, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

Lady, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

This is Lady. A sweet older girl who, at 10 years old, should be snuggled on a sofa, not sat in kennels. She walks out nicely with Lucky, and enjoys a tootle around the field stretching her little legs. Aunty Sue is worried the rabbit holes are bigger than Lady is, so she’s kept on a lead to keep her safe. Doesn’t stop her having a good run though! Have you a teeny spot on your sofa for Lady? Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the rescue and adoption fee applies. Read More

Beryl, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

Beryl, Female, JRT - Shrewsbury

Please say hello to dinky tripaw girl Beryl. She has been with us a while, but is only now ready for re-homing. We had to allow her some time to adjust to her leg amputation (the result of an old injury being left untreated) before we could consider her for re-homing. Not a lot is known about this fab little lass. All we can say is that she is in her twilight years and has been worked hard in the past. Some ruthless person had her and didn’t have her health/welfare at heart. Therefore, we are looking for a retirement sofa for Beryl where she will receive lots of cuddles and have all the pampering she deserves. She will only require gentle walks, but a garden to sniff and run around in is a must for this smashing little lass. Beryl is in foster at present with other dogs and has been great with them all. No cats or small furries though for this little lady as a working past has left her with a desire to chase. Have you a dinky spot on your sofa for our sweet little Beryl? Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the foster home and adoption fee applies. Read More

Little Miss P, Female, JRT -Shrewsbury

Little Miss P, Female, JRT -Shrewsbury

Little Miss P is a dinky Jack Russell Terrier. Around 9 months old and looking for her FUREVER home. We feel that she would be probably best as a single dog, or maybe in a home with bigger dogs. She can be quite bossy as she is a very typical terrier. She can also be quite vocal. It may sound awfu, butl she doesn’t mean anything by it. She just likes to make herself heard! She walks nicely on a lead and is more accepting of strangers now than when she first arrived in rescue. That said, Little Miss P will need to be allowed time to warm to a new person and will probably need a couple of meets before she starts to feel comfortable. This poor girl has had four homes so far, so has experienced a lot of change in her short life. Can you offer her the stability and furever home she truly deserves? She’s got bags of character and will make someone a fab little companion! Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Logan, Male, Staffie - Shrewsbury

This is handsome young staffie lad Logan. Only 12 months of age, he finds himself in kennels in Shrewsbury. He was rescued from a home where there were 14 dogs and no garden. Logan is loving the grass under his toes. He is an extremely friendly, loving young chap. Very keen to be loved and fussed! Such an inquisitive boy too; he likes to investigate and check out all new sniffs. Needless to say he hasn’t been used to being on a lead, but he is now. He will need a family who will accept he’s had a rubbish start to his young life and will help him to catch up. He’s a gorgeous, friendly, happy, waggy tailed young chap in need of a loving furever home. Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Charlie, Male, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

Charlie, Male, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

Charlie is a cute little crossbreed chap and he is looking for love. Charlie will be 7 months old as of and he has had a very sheltered life so far. As a result of this, he can be a little wary of strangers. Once he knows you mean no harm, he’s the friendliest lad you could wish to meet. With other dogs, Charlie can be a little wary too, but seems ok with calmer dogs. A lack of socialisation as a pup has left this lovely lad with some insecurities, but with time, patience and love, all this could be worked on. With Charlie still being a baby, we would prefer a home where someone is around most of the time. One that can give Charlie the love/attention he needs and deserves. Could Charlie be your darling? Blu, Male, Ambull - Shrewsbury

Blu, Male, Ambull - Shrewsbury

Blu is a gorgeus American Bulldog. He has some hearing problems on his left side, but otherwise fine. Blu is sadly having to find a new home as the older resident dog is not happy sharing his space. His current owner says 'Blu is a very lovely affectionate dog, full of happiness and just wants to be with you all the time giving cuddles and kisses. Loves to chase a ball, and play fetch, but is still learning to give it up without a bribe. Great recall, very good off lead, but lead walking needs some work. Can be left at home during the days, but needs a good run before and after as can be destructive of letters, books, and things lying around, as he's very curious, but never furniture. He has a huge appetite, but needs to remember his manners like 'wait' and 'gentle', so continuous training is needed. He can be possessive over toys, and snatchy with food so would be best in a home with no young children until he learns that it's OK and nobody is stealing his food or toys. Blu is fully house trained and doesn't seem to be reactive to cats, or other small animals (lives with rats currently), and when he's playing fetch he's not interested in other dogs. When he's not playing fetch he can be a little nervous of dogs that come running up to him. If a dog reacts to him, he will react back, then takes a few minutes to calm down. Blu needs an owner who is experienced in bully breeds, has the time to continue his training, and give him the attention he deserves. Until he grows in confidence he would probably be best as an only dog in a child free home'. Can anyone offer Blu that opportunity please?. Read More

Nathan, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Nathan is a very handsome, friendly young lad with a cheeky personality. He is very gentle when taking treats. A good mannered boy who at some point, has had someone teach him the basics. He does need an active, experienced lurcher home where he will get both the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He is big and quite a strong lad, so he will need someone capable of looking after a large, energetic dog and who is prepared to continue with his training to help him reach his full potential. A confident boy who isn't suitable for a home with cats and/or small furries. He could probably live with older children who wouldn’t get knocked over in a sudden rush for the door! He really is a lovely big boy who deserves the best of homes. So, if you feel he is right for you please apply, checking you are indeed Rescue Ready first! Toby, Male, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

Toby, Male, Crossbreed - Shrewsbury

Could you be the foster or Furever that Toby so desperately needs? He is a complete little love. Fosters need to be local - Shropshire up to the Wirral is fine, but if you can offer Toby a Furever we can look UK wide. Toby is nervous and hand shy, so we do not feel he is suitable to be in a home with young children at the moment. Young children might not understand that he needs time and space and that he is a very scared little boy. Older children and teenagers who can respect that would probably be OK. They must be old enough and sensible enough to be absolutely totally respectful of this boy's current state. Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the rescue and adoption fee applies. Foster is obviously free. Read More

Joseph, Male, Collie - Shrewsbury

Joseph, Male, Collie - Shrewsbury

Joseph is a very sweet natured and affectionate collie boy who likes nothing more than cuddles and fuss. We feel he is probably an ex farm dog from his behaviour and preferences. As you can see, he does rather love his bed in the hay! A super friendly boy, he loves playing with some of the other dogs, the girls especially. Some of the boys spook him so probably best as the only boy in a home. However. it would be lovely to see him have a sister to play with, as he really does enjoy playing with another dog given the chance. We don’t normally insist on this, but we feel Joseph needs a home with a garden. He is wary of walking on the lead still and traffic is a bit scary for him. He can get quite timid so a good secure garden is a must at least in the early days whilst he settles in with you and learns to live in a home environment. Sometimes even at kennels he just wants to walk a short distance and then sit and be stroked. He is a quiet boy and we feel he would like a garden to be safe in at first before he meets too much of the big bad world. He would possibly prefer not to be bothered with young children either. He loves fuss and attention, but as he is quite shy, so it would be better for him not to have to contend with young kids. He will also do best in a home where he has company, preferably with another dog (ideally female) and where he is not at home alone too much, too often. Joseph possibly has an issue with his eyes. His pupils seem quite enlarged and if you are a collie lover, you will know that it is not especially unusual for a collie to have eye problems. We will get this checked out thoroughly in due course. Joseph is a fabulous young lad and it would be great to see him getting the cuddles and fuss that he so loves in his own Furever Home. In summary Joseph’s ideal home will be a quiet adult home with a lovely secure garden in a quiet part of the world. If he can share that home with a female friendly dog, he would be very happy as he loves to play with other female dogs. He can be a bit overwhelmed by boys. His shy and quiet nature will need patience, calm and the chance to settle in and relax. Please read our article 'Are You Really Ready To Adopt A Rescue Dog?' before you apply. Thank you! Home check, meeting at the rescue and adoption fee applies. Read More
