He came in for boarding before Christmas, but due to his owner’s ill health unfortunately he now needs to find a new Furever Home. Gil joined us recently, and as you can see, he’s not in a great state Very skinny, sores on his body, scabby ears and hair loss. He has flat front feet, which typically suggests he’s been run too early and too far as a puppy. From that it would be a safe guess he has probably been worked. Mickey, Male, Lurcher - Shrewsbury

Mickey sadly came back to rescue after his older owner felt she couldn’t give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. He loves a good run around and needs an active home where he will get the lifestyle he needs. He wasn’t happy being walked on a lead up the lane for short walks, so he will need a chance to stretch his legs and have a good mooch around when outside. He is a very friendly boy. He can be a little timid at times until he knows and trusts you, but is such a loving dog once he feels confident with you. He is typically good with other dogs, probably best suited to a home with no cats or small furries, and we would prefer if any children, that they are of an age where they can respect his space – ideally age 11+. Marvin, Male, Lurcher x - Shrewsbury

Please meet marvellous Marvin! A gorgeous rough coated collie/lurcher mix who has had some bad luck in the past, who we would dearly love to see settled in a furever home. From past experience, we feel that Marvin would be happiest with a solo owner or maybe a couple who enjoy long walks and a quiet life. Marvin is great with other dogs, great off the lead and great in the home. No destruction, no mess and no noise. Marvin just needs a home where he won’t be overwhelmed or over faced with groups of teenagers/young people in his space. We would like ideally for his furever family to be within an hour of Shrewsbury so that several visits could be arranged prior to adoption. We would like his owner to have experience of owning a large breed, have an understanding of his needs and be willing to adapt to help him settle. A lovely name for a lovely girl! At about a year old Flora has clearly not had any input and has no manners whatsoever but shes absolutely delightful ?? She couldn’t be homed with small kids as she has no boundaries and if there was a biscuit around, she’d have it in an instant, LOL. LEO IS A RESCUE DOG CURRENTLY IN KENNELS WAITING FOR A LOVING HOME, PREFERABLY WITH LARGE DOG OR LURCHER EXPERIENCE BUT AS A PET ONLY NOT AS A WORKING DOG A lovely, friendly, Lurcher male who is approx 18mths old. He is tan and white in colour, large in size (quite a thick set Lurcher not a slender one). He has been no trouble in kennels, has been very friendly with everyone he meets. He can be quite vocal around other entire male dogs he is kennelled next to but this could be due to the stressful environment. Neutering may also help with this if he is still vocal with other dogs out of the kennel environment. He tries to stay clean in his indoor kennel and he appears to know some basic commands. Fosters need to be local - Shropshire up to the Wirral is fine, but if you can offer Toby a Furever we can look UK wide. Toby is nervous and hand shy, so we do not feel he is suitable to be in a home with young children at the moment. This is handsome young staffie lad Logan. Only 12 months of age, he finds himself in kennels in Shrewsbury. He was rescued from a home where there were 14 dogs and no garden. Logan is loving the grass under his toes. He is an extremely friendly, loving young chap. Very keen to be loved and fussed! Such an inquisitive boy too; he likes to investigate and check out all new sniffs. Needless to say he hasn’t been used to being on a lead, but he is now.
