The "Purvis" Governess Pony Car.   A beautiful piece of history has been lovingly restored to a high standard.  This eye catching antique is in full working order and includes the original brass lamps and whip.  With polished brass trim and in traditional colours in keeping with the original.   Bought with intention of restoring and using, however pony not suitable and lack of time forces sale.   Measurements: Tub - 42" l x 44"w Shafts - 63" l x 22" (narrowest point) Wheels - 38" diameter Overall cart - 47" h x 100" l x 52" w   Colours - Two tone Walnut and Dark Oak contrasting and complimenting on main body.  Hot Mustard and Fortress Black on ironwork, trims and shafts.

Vintage Antique Horse or Pony Drawn Cart in Wirral

For sale is a beautifully crafted market cart in green and yellow with good artillery wheels in working order. I bought it recently to do it up but with winter weather and no dry place to store it I am unable to work on it myself. The Horse or pony (cob- sized) cart will be a nice restoration project for someone. Grab yourself a bargain now!!! It has lovely paintwork which just needs touching up, and tlc and a new floor and front beam. Otherwise, it is a sound working cart, and the shafts are in good order and would suit any cob sized pony or a horse. The wrought ironwork is nice as is the chassis and the measurements are: Length: - 5ft 6ins long (cart not shafts) Width: - 3ft 8ins wide Height: - roughly 42in Shafts: - 90in long There is a detachable seat and a bracket on the back (also detachable) in scalloped yellow wood to match the sides. Offered for sale is my Grandfathers Governess Cart/Carriage. We do not know the year of it or even it's era, but would at a guess put it around . In good order, the cart was restored prior to him buying it years ago for my auntie to use. This never happened and was kept in dry storage until around a month ago when we got it out from under the sheet and gave it a wipe over for some pictures. Looks to be in good order but will need some tidying up to some trim pieces. The right hand shaft has previously been repaired at some point, I have no idea why. Pretty Governess Cart.   . Ideal for 13:2. Removable chord cushions and raised drivers seat. No longer in show condition but ideal for everyday use. Axles and hubs recently serviced with new leather washers and a top up with oil. Wear and tear includes worn and chipped varnish, worn and chipped paint, old repairs to woodwork. Being varnished it is clear to see that all the woodwork is good and there is no rot or filler. This cart has been in regular use but sadly my driving pony has retired.   It is a lovely and quite fine example.
