Offered for sale is my Grandfathers Governess Cart/Carriage. We do not know the year of it or even it's era, but would at a guess put it around . In good order, the cart was restored prior to him buying it years ago for my auntie to use. This never happened and was kept in dry storage until around a month ago when we got it out from under the sheet and gave it a wipe over for some pictures. Looks to be in good order but will need some tidying up to some trim pieces. The right hand shaft has previously been repaired at some point, I have no idea why. Here we have an mint condition carriage.  All the side panels are removable so it can be used in good and bad conditions. The roof can be folded back easily if you require. The only bad points are that the paint is pealing slightly by the rear wheels were the brake line enters the hub. see photo, both sides are identical. Apart from this the carriage is great condition. The interior is spotless and very fancy, the photos don't do it justice. I think it's a velvet fabric or very similar.  It has a working hydraulic brake and Leaf suspension on all wheels. Designed to fit 1 or 2 horse of around hands. this carriage is an American import and is the same as some of the ones used around central park, i'm still trying to find the manufacturers name so will have it shortly.  Any questions or offers please call, text or email me. viewings welcome. This is a seat from an old gig, trap, cart, carriage but is in general good condition. It's just dusty in photos. It's cushion has a small tear on corner as shown in photo. The wood is fine as is the metalwork so would be a great easy restoration project or spare seat. Just needs little sprucing up. It would need collecting because of size. Pretty Governess Cart.   . Ideal for 13:2. Removable chord cushions and raised drivers seat. No longer in show condition but ideal for everyday use. Axles and hubs recently serviced with new leather washers and a top up with oil. Wear and tear includes worn and chipped varnish, worn and chipped paint, old repairs to woodwork. Being varnished it is clear to see that all the woodwork is good and there is no rot or filler. This cart has been in regular use but sadly my driving pony has retired.   It is a lovely and quite fine example.
