It is a beautiful hand-knotted Persian original carpet Heriz,A city in northwestern Iran in the province of Azerbaijan. Heriz is a collective name for the entire knotting area, especially around the city of Heriz, among others for the following villages: Ahar, Bakhshayes, Goravan and Heriz. In patterning and knotting all have these carpets the same features. The warp and weft are made of thick cotton and the pile thread is made from two-ply and very robust sheep's wool. Most provinces produce the rugs with medallions.Heriz rugs, because of their very good durability, classic patterning and usually relatively cheap prices (with the exception of old and antique pieces, these are getting ever higher prices), are very popular in the market. Typical of the Heriz are the shiny wool and the bright colours that give a fantastic colour. The carpet is famous for its beautiful geometric design.Size: approx. 312 x 227 cm (without fringes). The carpet is clean and it is in perfect condition.
