Heriz is a collective name for the entire knotting area, especially around the city of Heriz, among others for the following villages: Ahar, Bakhshayes, Goravan and Heriz. In patterning and knotting all have these carpets the same features. The warp and weft are made of thick cotton and the pile thread is made from two-ply and very robust sheep's wool.
