My grandfather, a Dutch Jewish violinist, studied with Anna Freud during the war after he became paraplegic. This was the couch for his patients. The couch needs attention, re upholstery. Ikea TARVA day bed frame, makes a chaise longue by day and single or double bed by night

I bought this TARVA untreated pine bed frame from Ikea for over £100 only two months ago. In their catalogue it is article number , and is 200 x 80 cm. It is very versatile, designed to be a chaise longue by day, with a back rest that can be fitted at either end, and a bed by night, either a single or a double if the frame is pulled out. Ikea sell a suitable mattress called Moshult, . Two of these would sit one on top of the other as a single bed or side by side to make a big double. I decided to build the frame without the back rest, and that's what you see in the photos. I made new legs, long enough so that a thick single mattress would fit underneath. I am very pleased with the result, but have decided that the bed isn't suitable for the room. The frame is fastened with the usual Ikea screws and dowels and can be taken apart for transport. As I have kept all the Ikea parts, if you wish you could rebuild it with the back rest as Ikea designed. I am happy to leave the frame built for you to inspect, or to take it to pieces ready for transport. Buyer to collect please as I no longer have the original packaging. Cash on collection Ad ID:
