Bronze incense burner – Japan – late 19th century

The bowl has three curled legs, depicting mythological creatures. The rim of the bowl is decorated with a band of cloisonné, in various colours, with ruyi and branch patterns. There are holes in the cover, which let the smoke pass through, and it has a depiction of a Japanese Shi Shi at the top. Samura Hakama Kamishimoi – Japan – 19th century

Mostly worn as traditional wear, worn by the Samurai on special occasions, such as visits to a shrine (temple). Most often they have a black or blue colour. It is very rare to have two of these pieces in this great condition. The family crest on the blue Hakama is from the Watanabe samurai. The second one is from the Togashi/Tomoe samurai. Two beautiful Hakama in good condition from the Edo Period.Obviously they have been worn and they have signs of wear, which they are supposed to have. A must for the true enthusiast. Mahogany METAMORPHIC sofa with bed built into back of sofa with a storage compartment under seat made in paris the late 's measures 208m wide x 1m tall x 92cm deep very unusual design the pic is as a sofa it has been taken back to the original material so will need re-upholstering the pics with the stripe material is the single bed which by pushing the back of sofa flat (see last pics) turns it into a single bed this is all original and would need some lining, once reupholstered it would look magnificent and is very heavy a very interesting piece there are a handful of old inactive worm holes at bottom of frame and storage under seat see pics.
