Samura Hakama Kamishimoi – Japan – 19th century

Samura Hakama Kamishimoi – Japan – 19th century

Click here to view this lot 2 Japanese Samurai Hakama. In Japan these are officially called Kamishimo Hakama. Mostly worn as traditional wear, worn by the Samurai on special occasions, such as visits to a shrine (temple). Most often they have a black or blue colour. It is very rare to have two of these pieces in this great condition. The family crest on the blue Hakama is from the Watanabe samurai. The second one is from the Togashi/Tomoe samurai. Two beautiful Hakama in good condition from the Edo Period.Obviously they have been worn and they have signs of wear, which they are supposed to have. A must for the true enthusiast. (The first picture is an example of how it would be presented in Japan, mostly in temples.)They will be packaged and shipped with great care. Good luck. Click here to visit Catawiki Read More
