Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I bought this last year from a family who had, had major renovations done to their home. Unfortunately it was too big for the space I had in mind so ended up purchasing another smaller fireplace. As you can see there is some discolouration and rusting as it was stored in her shed from where I originally purchased, this is easily rectified with a clean you can bring this back to its original form (loads of advice online) It's a beautiful fireplace with all pieces present and correct.
