This beautiful set was made especially for us in France. The table is circular but has two additional matching extensions which turn it into a comfortable 8-10 seater. The photos show one panel in place and there's also a detail to show the hand crafted antique, distressed surface which gives the pieces such character. Moving house forces sale unfortunately.This has been used for big family gatherings, a charity sale as holds so many items. This has been protected with a protector cover but is a table which has been invaluable. No reductions as this would now cost well over the original price. It has been polished with beeswax only. French made, extending cherry-finish dining-room table, 4 chairs & 2 carvers, seats 10 at the table

Extending dining table seats from 1 to 6 without the table extensions. Each of the two extensions (one at each end) allows another 2 people to sit, so a total of 10 people can sit around the table (although you’ll have to provide the extra chairs!) The extensions drop onto sliders which slide out of the main table at each end. The table is supported by two pedestals which can be removed for transport. The place settings and cutlery plus the contents of the display cabinet are not included!…but the heat resistant table covering is included. Grange France Large Oval Dining Table and 6 chairs Made in France - cost £ + when new Exceptional quality - seats 6, 8 or 10 comfortably This exceptionally high quality dining set is made by Grange Furniture, an influential name in cabinet making, both in France and abroad. Purchased from Fenwicks, Newcastle, the set is part of the Directoire collection. There is also a matching large Sideboard available. The table seats 6 people and has an expanding centre section which is stored underneath the table and when opened fully, enables 10 people to sit comfortably. The extending section comprises 2 folding leaves, each being 42cm wide. The set is made from solid cherrywood and features Grange's signature French hand painted finish in antique cream with exposed cherrywood edges and detailing. The table and chairs cost £ plus when bought new and single chairs currently retail at £ each. The 4 slender legs with carved features are capped with aged metal feet. The matching chairs have padded seats and back rests covered in cream fabric. Overall the suite is in excellent condition save for a couple of marks on some of the seat pads. The seat pads are covered in brown material typical of the period but this could very quickly and easily be changed, depending on your personal taste. The padding underneath the cloth is in good condition and they are very comfortable chairs. Apart from that they just need a good polish-up with beeswax, but at just £125 for all six chairs they are an excellent bargain as just one English-made solid yew chair would set you back more than double that amount now.
