Each of the two extensions (one at each end) allows another 2 people to sit, so a total of 10 people can sit around the table (although you’ll have to provide the extra chairs!) The extensions drop onto sliders which slide out of the main table at each end. The table is supported by two pedestals which can be removed for transport. The place settings and cutlery plus the contents of the display cabinet are not included!…but the heat resistant table covering is included. This solid oak dining set is good quality and heavy. There are a couple of minor nicks but nothing serious or obvious and there are no scratches on the top of the table. The legs of the table can be removed for easier transportation. The two extension leaves are stored in the table, but can be removed as seen in the picture. The size of the table is 85 cm wide x 130 cm long. It extends to 170 cm with one leaf, and 210 cm with two leaves. The chairs are dark brown faux leather. The seat pads are covered in brown material typical of the period but this could very quickly and easily be changed, depending on your personal taste. The padding underneath the cloth is in good condition and they are very comfortable chairs. Apart from that they just need a good polish-up with beeswax, but at just £125 for all six chairs they are an excellent bargain as just one English-made solid yew chair would set you back more than double that amount now. The chairs approximate measurements in inches are:- Height 39, Seat Height 19, Width (Plain Dining Chair) 19, Width (Carver) 21 & Depth 20.
