For sale is this Fender USA American Vintage Hot Rod Telecaster, made in . These are no longer available to buy and are becoming more sought after. Cost c. £ new The guitar is in excellent condition, with only a couple of small marks on the body as shown in the photos. All original, except the stock Seymour Duncan Gibson Firebird type mini-humbucker neck pickup was removed by a previous owner and a high spec. Gibson Burstbucker installed. This replacement Gibson pickup alone is worth c.£100. The original mini-humbucker is also provided, it's in the case. Comes complete with original hard case in almost unmarked condition, plus all hangtags, key for case etc. that originally came with the guitar. This guitar has a fantastic, quite large (but not full baseball bat) neck, and the frets are in excellent shape with hardly any wear. All switches & pots function correctly with no buzzes or scratches. Plays beautifully, quite powerful gutsy vintage tone from both pickups, which are quite hot. The current neck humbucker blends beautifully with the bridge pickup in the middle position, and both pickups sound great pon their own. Has had a recent pro-setup with 10s, and is solid as a rock. Feel free to try it out, my amp is a Laney VC15 small valve amp, or bring your own. As I recently acquired a Fender Jazz US Standard I have decided to sell my Aerodyne Jazz Bass. Crafted in Japan with a Q serial number it is dated . The Bass is in good condition for its age although there are some little dents and surface scratches on the body that cannot really be picked up on the photos or are really noticeable unless close up. There was a chip on the rear top edge that could not, in any event, be seen from the front and now I have camouflaged it with black nail varnish is hardly noticeable. I have tried to photograph it. The neck is typically jazz width and is very fast. There is very little, if any, fret wear as when I bought the bass the strings were black nylon covered and I believe this has mitigated any wear. However I recently put on some D’Addario Pro Steels, which I prefer. With a mix of precision and jazz pickups you have the best of both worlds with precision sounds and with the bridge pick up that jazz rasp. Light weight at 8.6Ib and very comfortable to play. Currently priced new at around £ I am asking for £450 which is less than the going rate or a trade for a Gibson EB . Plays fantastic, has been recently set up by nige in Richmond Has had upgraded pickups, hand wound in the USA by James from re-wind pickups, re-wind. The pickups are wound a bit hotter than a typical vintage Mustang pickup, with a bit extra on the bridge. Red poly wire to keep things crisp sounding. They were a custom build.
