She retains original cross-halved stand of which has been finished in a medium natural wood polish finish. On the stand is stenciled with the size number 5, and remnants of former stenciling which are illegible. This may have been Harrods as the supplier. All tack has been replicated and is detachable. We have for sale a magnificent Victorian Bow Rocking Horse which we can go back in family history to for the continued love and care of this fine specimen, but not sure of its exact age. This dapple Grey has original bit, saddle and stirrups and has been partially restored with new reins, mane and tail. F H Ayers Rocking Horse - recently subject to sympathetic restoration

Open to sensible offers. A splendid example of a small F H Ayres rocking horse; it is 34 inches tall at the top of the ear. It has recently been the subject of a superb restoration by Kensington Rocking Horses. The restoration has ensured that it has kept it's original paintwork and patina. The horse has glass eyes. It is believed that the horse is very early 20th century. It was originally sold by Gamages Department Store in Holborn, London - the stand still has the original stencil from the shop (see picture - prior to the store was known as A W Gamage Ltd). A rare opportunity to obtain a beautiful example of the most sought after manufacturer of rocking horses. This quality antique horse would suit either a collector or make an excellent addition to any house as either a decorative piece, or even a toy.
