This beautiful viola was made by Richard Motley in Norwich in . It is a full sized 16 inch back instrument and comes with a full set of Dominant strings (the top three have recently been changed). I can include a basic bow if required, and for postage purposes an old basic case is also included. This instrument has been extensively played in orchestral and chamber music settings and is suitable for pretty much any level of playing! THIS SADDLE ARRIVED WELL PACKED AND IN GOOD SOUND ORDER BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY MEASURED IT AS 17"...DOESN'T MEASURE 17" ANYWAY YOU MEASURE IT.....BUT THE CORRECT WAY FROM STUD TO MID CANTLE IS A GENEROUS 17.5".......IT HAS A SLIGHT CUT BACK POMMEL....IT IS WIDE AND 9.5" TO EDGES OF SADDLE BETWEEN D's BUT THEY ARE LOW...WHERE IT COMES IN TO CONTACT WITH PONY AT FRONT PADDING IS 5.5...6"......GULLET IS WIDE BUT NOT QUITE SO MUCH TO BACK END I HAD A SADDLER CHECK IT AND HE SAID IT IS FINE..MAYBE NEEDS FLOCKING SORTED TO CANTLE END......THE CANTLE HAD A SPLIT AND IT WAS OBVIOUS A HORSE HAD BITTEN IT AS PREVIOUS OWNER STATED....I HAD A SADDLER STITCH A 2.5" SEAM ON SEAT AND THE CANTLE JUST TO MAKE GOOD AND STOP IT GOING FURTHER...IT LOOKS A BIT UNTIDY AT CANTLE END...(SOME POLISH WILL HELP DARKEN IT)AND YOU WILL NEED A NICE SEAT SAVER.... THIS SADDLE IS FINE FOR EVERYDAY...NOT SHOW RING!
